Help fight Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

For those of you that don’t know, Coquitlam Fire Rescue's own Lieutenant Stu Aspinall wrote a song a couple of years ago after reading a newspaper article about a young Canadian Soldier.

Cpl Stuart Langridge, was a model soldier who served as a Tank Gunner with the Canadian Armed Forces. He was a veteran of both Afghanistan and Bosnia.

Unfortunately, when he returned home, he suffered badly from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). After battling with the disorder, and numerous attempts of suicide, Stuart finally gave in to the disorder and took his own life in 2008.  His story inspired Stu Aspinall to write the song.

In July of this year Stu met Cpl Langridge's parents at Town Center Fire Hall, showed them the video with the song, and presented them with a copy.

Chief Delmonico has also created a plaque recognizing Cpl Langridge service and Stu's song.  The plaque is now hanging in the upper hallway of the Fire Admin building.

Stu's goal is to donate proceeds from every download to help support programs that fight PTSD.

We know you will like the song, and in order to support the cause we encourage you to download it for only .99 cents.

You can find the song on iTunes and the Digital Distributor Indie Music site http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/stuaspinall.  There is a link to iTunes and also to cdbaby.com on the YouTube site.

You can preview it on YouTube (search "Stu Aspinall"), however this will not generate any proceeds towards the fight against PTSD.

Please pass this info along to anyone else who might enjoy the song, or who wants to help with this cause.
